Part of a project to illustrate pictures inspired by Robert Service poems. I chose the “The Shooting of Dan McGrew” for this one. I wanted to feature two of the most prominent elements of the poem together, the gold satchel and the piano. To fit with the themes and ambiance of the story I coloured the scene with strong reds and orange.
